My mom reminded me that the best way to choose artwork for your home is to go with what you like and I have always loved photography. So rather than investing in expensive artwork to go behind our dining room table, I have decided to take a picture of the place that has brought me the most peace in the past few years...our beach!! Since I have started working out at our access in the morning I am often there just as or just after the sun comes up and I've gotten to see some of the most gorgeous sunrises you can imagine. There have been a few times where I have cut my workout short so that I can run home and grab my camera and snap a few...or a few hundred shots. The one thing I have learned and truly come to appreciate since embarking on this assignment that I gave myself is that our beach is ALWAYS beautiful. Whether it is overcast, sunny, rainy, or dark out this place that is just steps from our house is breathtaking. Just yesterday I was telling Andrew that, with all of the thinking that I have been doing about god and mortality lately, looking at the beach is the one thing that has really made me think there is the possibility of a god. It's just so hard to believe that nature could just have randomly ended up so damn gorgeous. To which he responded, imagine if you were from another planet and saw the beach in these pictures for the first time. We both agreed that we would be blown away.
Anyways, back to the task at hand. I was hoping for help deciding on which of the pictures I have taken so far should be put on a canvas and hung behind our dining room table. Based on the nearly 100 pictures that I have narrowed it down to, I obviously can't choose on my own. I am going to put a number below each picture and would love it if you could tell me which one or few are your fav/s. I think that if you click on the first picture it will go through and give you a slideshow so you can see them a bit bigger on your screen. I know there are a ton of pics, but just let me know if any really catch your attention. Come on Al, Em, Wanda, Mom, and Dad! I'm counting on you guys :)
And before you look at the pics, here are a couple of pics of the dining room. The beach pic will go where the tiny mirror is now. And I would possibly put another vertical one on the shorter wall next to the french doors??
